Breakfast Club

AIMS
To offer a safe and secure and friendly environment in which children can enjoy a healthy and nutritious breakfast under the supervision of qualified staff.
In accordance with the school’s healthy eating ethos, to provide a nutritious breakfast served in a relaxed and supervised environment.
To enhance the community spirit and contribute towards the extended school role.
OPENING TIMES
The Breakfast Club will open term time only for children in Reception – Year 6 on:
Monday to Friday from 7.50 – 8.35am.
Breakfast will be served from 7.50 – 8.15am.
Breakfast comprising cereal, toast and juice will be provided. Activities will be provided for children once they have eaten.
At 8.35am children will be escorted to their classrooms for the start of the school day.
*Please note that school rules are applicable to breakfast club.
We accept children in Breakfast Club once they are independent and can cope with meeting a variety of children of all ages.
If you would like to discuss the arrangements for Breakfast Club and whether this provision is suitable, please contact the school office.
STAFF
Our breakfast club will be run by school staff, they have the correct safeguarding checks in place. The ratio of staff to children will be in accordance with Government recommendations. Staff will keep a list of all members of breakfast club and a register of attendance will be taken daily. We aim to follow best practice guidance and will have a ratio of one adult to eight children. The maximum number of children that can attend breakfast club is 24.
FEES AND PAYMENT
Breakfast club is offered to pupils of Pakefield Primary School during term time only.
We offer breakfast and activities and start at 7.50am until 8.35am. The cost of this session from 4th September is £3.50 per child per session.
Payment is to be made in advance, at the time of booking. Bookings can be made using our online booking form, subject to spaces being available. We require at least 48 hours notice.
If a child is ill on a day they are due to attend breakfast club, this will not be refundable as staffing provision will have been made and these costs will still need to be covered. If a place is cancelled with 48 hours notice, no charge will be made.
There is no discount for those children not having breakfast, the fee includes the price of the food.
