SEND

At Pakefield Primary School our vision is that every child should be happy at school, enjoy learning and achieve their best.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Pakefield Primary School

At Pakefield Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing and ambitious learning environment where every child feels valued, supported and has a strong sense of belonging. We recognise that every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests and aspirations, and we believe that all children should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Our approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is built on high expectations, early identification and a commitment to removing barriers to learning. We believe that every child deserves access to a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, with high-quality inclusive teaching at the heart of everything we do.

We recognise that some children may require additional support at different stages of their education. Through our graduated approach of Assess, Plan, Do, Review, we work closely with children, parents and carers, staff and external professionals to understand individual needs and provide appropriate support. Our provision is underpinned by the Active Learning Trust's Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP) framework, ensuring that support is responsive, personalised and regularly reviewed.

We are passionate about developing children's confidence, independence and resilience, celebrating their achievements and ensuring that their voices are heard. We believe that positive relationships and strong partnerships with families are essential to helping every child feel happy, safe and successful at school.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo)

Our school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) is Miss Natasha Moss.

Miss Moss works closely with our Headteacher, class teachers, support staff, families and external professionals to coordinate SEND provision across the school. She supports staff in identifying and meeting children's individual needs, oversees the graduated approach to SEND support and works in partnership with parents and carers to ensure children receive the support they need to thrive.

We recognise that parents and carers know their children best, and we value open, honest and supportive communication. If you have any concerns about your child's learning, development or additional needs, we encourage you to speak to their class teacher in the first instance. You are also very welcome to contact Miss Moss directly.
